I have been looking into the new Ford Focus ST and I have discovered that my favourite colour, blue candy metallic, isn't available on the ST.
This isn't the first time I have noticed a manufacture doing this sort of thing, what is the deal? It is clearly a colour that they have on hand, why won't they offer all the colours they produce?

I've wondered the same thing, I think they (the manufacturers) figure that people won't want the lower spec colors, but people will want the higher spec colors, influencing them to pay a little more.

So it won't be confused with the "lesser" models.

Because Performance Blue is prettier.
HFV has no HFV. But somehow has 2 motorcycles

I've noticed this to I mean the GTI can only be had in like wite, black, or red. It's really stupid of you ask me. These cars(cars like the ST sisters and the GTI) are made for people that love cars and probably want there car to stand out, so they should offer MORE colors on the fun models not less.
Also that Candy blue is awesome. The car pictured above is exactly what my wife and I want as her next car, except she wants a sedan...ew. But I love the blacked out headlights, and black wheels.

If you like a boring blue colour. I'm all about turquoise highlights.

I agree with you but it seems most "performace"/high spec cars stick to black and red for colors. I've been looking at new camaro SS cars and almost every one on local lots is either black or a dark grey. No silvers or bright colors half the time. I wish they would paint the camaro in blue topaz metallic like on a silverado and impalas
Where have all the lightweights gone?

I really don't get this either. Candy Blue Metallic is a premium color on the base cars. Why don't they offer it as an option/premium for the ST?

it's anything but boring, changing several shades between blue and purple(affectionately known as blurple). But it doesn't have turquoise.

But oftentimes higher spec models will have less selection, although there are some notable exceptions (I'm looking at you, R34 GT-R and E36 M3)

The people who care about the car won't look down on you because you have a "lesser" color. I sure as hell wouldn't.

Maybe it's better in person, but I just love turquoise on cars. My first car was a 2002 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V in turquoise, I miss that ugly mugg :*(
(Not mine, but I had the same colour/bumper).

They do have a gorgeous blue for the camaro, not sure why more people don't go for it.

I was doing the same thing...wanted a blue ST and just wasn't overly impressed with the blue offered.
So I went in the other direction and got red. Gorgeous in every light.

Well the only blue offered on 14 camaro is super dark almost black. It doesn't stand out unless you get right up to it or put it next to a black car. In 2010 they had aqua blue metallic and it was beautiful but they dropped it after like 6 months. I still look for a used ss stick car to pop up. the hot wheels edition cars had a really pretty blue

Oh I didn't realize they stopped offering that colour, it was by far the best.

yeah I was upset when they dropped it so quickly. Most SS cars are either black, red, or orange.
